Act Now Before
it’s Too Late
Changes
in legislation coming in next year could
affect you and your club!
Do you
have a Little Dragons or a pre-School class?
If you do
then please take note of the following:
Specific legal requirements
“At least
one person who has a current paediatric
first aid certificate must be on the
premises at all
times
when children are present. There must be at
least one person on outings who has a
current
paediatric first aid certificate.”
“First
aid training must be approved by the local
authority and consistent with the guidance
set out in the Practice Guidance
for the Early Years Foundation Stage.”
Taken
from “The Early Years Foundation Stage
Statutory Framework”
The
Paediatric first aid course has to be a 12
hour course.
This
affects and club or instructor with classes
of 5 year olds and under.
Any
childminder or person looking after a group
of young children 0-5years of age.
This will
also include any Primary school with a
reception class (which is nearly all).

the most demand.
So if you
would like one near you, you need to get in
first and express an interest.
