Act Now Before it’s Too Late

Changes in legislation coming in next year could affect you and your club!

Do you have a Little Dragons or a pre-School class?

If you do then please take note of the following:

Specific legal requirements

“At least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises at all

times when children are present. There must be at least one person on outings who has a current

paediatric first aid certificate.”

“First aid training must be approved by the local authority and consistent with the guidance set out in the Practice Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage.”

Taken from “The Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework”

The Paediatric first aid course has to be a 12 hour course.

This affects and club or instructor with classes of 5 year olds and under.

Any childminder or person looking after a group of young children 0-5years of age.

This will also include any Primary school with a reception class (which is nearly all).

MASTARR Trainers!

We are anticipating a huge demand for these courses throughout the country.

If you would like to add this paediatric first aid course to your portfolio of courses you can offer or if you would like to become a Registered MASTARR trainer please contact us.

(To teach this course, trainers must have completed and up to date Paediatric or First Aid at Work certificate). The minimum teaching qualification required to teach this course is the PTC (Professional Teaching Certificate) or equivalent. MASTARR offer this Qualification as a 3 day course, certified by the CIEH (Chartered Institute of Environmental Health).

This comes into force in September 2008!

So if you are looking at renewing your qualifications soon you may wish to consider attending a Paediatric first aid course instead of the Appointed Persons course.

We will be running Paediatric first aid courses throughout the UK, over a weekend (2 days), the locations will be based on where we have the most demand.

So if you would like one near you, you need to get in first and express an interest.

The course is RRP £120 per person

MASTARR Discounted Rate Just £85 per person (price includes a comprehensive colour Paediatric first aid book worth £5.99, and a recognised certificate valid for 3 years).

We can offer discounts for group bookings or clubs wishing to host a course (provide a venue etc.)

MASTARR trainers can claim their FREE PowerPoint presentation when attending one of these courses (Copyright rules apply to its use). Please see above if you would like to become a MASTARR Trainer.
