Student Martial Arts Awards

International Student Accreditation Scheme

How it works

Martial arts can be far bigger than technique or training once a week. Many students aspire to strong moral philosophy as seen in many kung fu movies and on TV.  The ISAS awards can be about effort, achievement, dedication, commitment outside the grade requirements.  The awards can say thank you, show appreciation, give recognition and provide the ultimate motivation. Awards can attract criticism especially from those who don't get one, but the truth is there is nothing wrong with saying thank you, appreciating or encouraging loyalty from your students. Raising your clubs profile is an additional social and community benefit as you add values beyond technique.

Ballot Packs

Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, Kickboxing,  Jujitsu are just a few of the martial arts styles who can benefit from using a ballot pack. The pack has cards you distribute to your students they can pick student of the year, best coach and best competitor etc. The students return the cards to their instructor who counts the votes and allocates the awards from the ISAS ceremony. The crux of  the matter is no one can point the finger and accuse the instructor of playing favourites or the student of being the teachers pet etc.

Flexibility

Your martial arts school needs to develop, make local news and go beyond your martial arts into the media to show you are community minded and support it in important ways from keeping kids of the street through various moral disciplines people aspire too. If you have a worthy cause we will listen and we can present an award to special people without discrimination.  Any race, children, adults, senior citizens and disabled are potential candidates for an award we have no discrimination and ask that any person you put forward deserves it.

This ensured the beginners understand a vast range of skills and tactics and realise their are no exacts or rights and wrongs, just safer options.

Children's Workshops

Learning martial arts from celebrities and specialist who provide a range of martial arts combined with child development is nothing less short of brilliant. When children are in trouble they need specific life skills and most only ever speak or brief over important issues. This workshop combines fire drills, anti drugs, stranger dangers, medicine dangers, flooding, animals, self-defence and leader skill development with martial arts. It deals with repeated exposure so there is a much greater chance they will remember the essentials if they are in a dangerous situation.

Black Belt Workshops

If you run a martial arts club, academy or school you can network with other instructors sharing information and learning new techniques. Many bring the new stuff into their own syllabus. If you find other instructors you like you can book them for a seminar or course, may be reciprocate with a seminar or course in their club. The workshops are very friendly and everyone's an equal. The key instructors who teach on the seminars will be world champions, renowned martial arts instructors, instructors of specialist skills or TV and film celebrity martial artists.

Awards

Raising the profile of martial arts, your club and saying thank you to other martial artist are a few of the benefits. Awards represent something usually some sort of thanks for contribution, they are great motivators and usually mean a great deal to the recipient. Awards impress and build friendships and provide  opportunities for getting in the newspapers and on the radio which help recruit new student and give continued media presence.

Get in your local newspaper

Appearing in the national martial arts magazines add credibility but your local newspaper and local media are right in the heart of your local community and by creating local news you can use the publicity to recruit new students.  Saying the right thing, creating interesting features to develop your image should be done on a regular basis. You can make things happen simply by networking at the international training weekend with a camera add talking to your local journalists.

Your local radio station

How do you show your local radio station your the local "GO-TO MARTIAL ARTIST". Obviously you need to impress and create a good professional image by presenting a portfolio of what you have achieved and your accreditation. You could offer to do phone - ins, interviews, charity events, free training days etc  will show them your not their to promote a business and have a real interest in contributing to your local community.

Networking opportunity

Many instructors go to their clubs on a regular basis, never doing anything outside of that. Realistically they will never be more than what they put it. To move ahead of other clubs a proactive approach allows you to do so much more.  Recruiting and retaining students effectively goes a long way towards your success. Networking can create opportunities for you to learn and develop from the worlds best and sharing knowledge that helps martial arts develop.  Networking with celebrities, organisations, high profile martial artists shows that your contributing to your school and not a holiday fund. It build confidence and promotes a professional image everyone of your members will want to be part of.

Motivating your group

Everyone is different to a degree, but most of us like the highlife, enjoy a sense of importance and being part of a team.  Expand the motivation beyond learning technique, make their martial arts a bigger part of their life.  Social situations, field trips, excitement and fulfilment to train and meet actors, martial artists and idols are a real benefit that adds so many values that add to student retention, recruitment and your own credibility.  In martial arts you can teach your students what's best giving them the choice gives them confidence in you because you empower them.

Being seen as one of the best

Everyone wants to be the best, and the thing is no one notices unless you are with the best. The saying its not what you know its who you know is so right. Being seen with the best and showing your students who you know with photos and write ups will do more than a testimonial. If you are seen with professionals you will be tarred with the same brush!.
